WORLD CLASS PANCREATIC CANCER TREATMENT IN INDIA

Treatment depends on the stage and location of the cancer as well as your overall health. The first goal of pancreatic cancer treatment is to remove the cancer, when possible. When that is not possible, the goal would be to improve your quality of life and prevent the cancer from growing or causing more harm.

Treatment may include surgery, radiation, chemotherapy or a combination of these.

Surgery

The extent of pancreatic cancer will determine the nature and type of surgery. In some cases, only a portion of the pancreas will need to be removed. In other cases, the entire pancreas along with nearby organs such as gallbladder, bile duct, et cetera may also need to be removed.

Preparatory investigations will determine the exact nature of the surgery.

Extensive research shows that pancreatic cancer surgery tends to have fewer complications when done by highly experienced surgeons at centers that do many of these operations. We offer you treatment by India’s most experienced cancer surgeons.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy uses drugs to help kill cancer cells. These drugs can be injected into a vein or taken orally. You may receive one chemotherapy drug or a combination of drugs.

Chemotherapy can also be combined with radiation therapy (chemoradiation). Chemoradiation is typically used to treat cancer that has spread beyond the pancreas, but only to nearby organs and not to distant regions of the body. Our doctors sometimes use this combination of treatment before surgery to help shrink the tumor. At other times, it is used after surgery to reduce the risk that pancreatic cancer may recur.

In people with advanced pancreatic cancer, chemotherapy is often used to control cancer growth and prolong survival.

Radiation therapy

Radiation therapy uses high-energy beams to destroy cancer. You may receive radiotherapy before or after cancer surgery, sometimes in combination with chemotherapy. A combination of radiation and chemotherapy may also be advised if your cancer can't be treated surgically.

Choose us – because we can make a difference.

  • Avoiding surgery with the right diagnosis. Pancreatic cancer can be very difficult to distinguish from another relatively uncommon disease called autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP). AIP is a noncancerous (benign) condition that can be treated with steroids without the need for surgery, if diagnosed early enough.

  • Basing treatment decisions on advanced imaging. Our doctors have specialized expertise in CT angiography, PET CT and MRI.

  • Performing surgery when tumors affect nearby blood vessels. Many people are not considered eligible for the Whipple procedure or other pancreatic surgeries if their tumors involve nearby blood vessels. We offer highly specialized and experienced surgeons who safely perform these operations in select patients. These procedures involve removing and reconstructing parts of blood vessels.

  • Performing minimally invasive pancreatic surgery. In many cases, our surgeons can now perform complex pancreatic cancer operations using either small incisions (laparoscopy) or robotic techniques, which have been shown to allow for a faster recovery.

Come, let’s beat cancer together.
