WORLD CLASS PROSTATE CANCER TREATMENT IN INDIA

We offer world class treatment for prostate cancers. Early detection enables complete cure for many patients of prostate cancer. We offer the latest and most accurate diagnostic imaging for prostate cancer,PSMA PET Scan.

Prostate cancer treatment options depend on several factors, such as how fast the cancer is growing, how much it has spread and the overall health of the patient. Fast growing prostate cancers need early and effective treatment..

  • External beam radiation: Radiation that comes from outside of your body
  • Brachytherapy- radiation placed inside your body: Brachytherapy involves placing many rice-sized radioactive seeds in your prostate tissue. The radioactive seeds deliver a low dose of radiation over a long period of time. They eventually lose radiation strength and hence do not need removal.

Hormone therapy

This therapy stops the body from producing the male hormone, testosterone. Prostate cancer cells rely on testosterone to help them grow. Cutting off the hormone supply causes cancer cells to die or to grow more slowly. Hormone therapy options include:

  • Medications that stop your body from producing testosterone.
  • Medications that block testosterone from reaching cancer cells.
  • Surgery to remove the testicles (orchiectomy). Removing your testicles reduces testosterone levels in your body.

Hormone therapy is used to treat advanced prostate cancer to shrink the cancer and slow the growth of tumors. In early-stage prostate cancers, hormone therapy is used to shrink tumors before radiation therapy. The reduced tumour size makes radiation therapy more successful.

Surgery to remove the prostate (Radical Prostatectomy):

The prostate gland is removed along with some surrounding tissue and a few lymph nodes. Techniques for radical prostatectomy include:

  • Using a robot to assist with surgery: Our hospitals are among the few in India offering the Robotic Surgery System. We have the world leading da Vinci Robot.

During robot-assisted surgery, surgical instruments are attached to the robot arms, and inserted into your abdomen through several small incisions. The surgeon sits at a console and uses hand controls to guide the robot. Robotic prostatectomy allows the surgeon to operate more precisely with surgical tools than is possible with traditional minimally invasive surgery.

Laparoscopic prostatectomy: During a laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, the doctor performs surgery through small incisions in the abdomen with the assistance of a tiny camera (laparoscope).

Freezing prostate tissue

Cryosurgery or cryoablation involves freezing/heating tissue to kill cancer cells. Small needles are inserted in the prostate and a very cold gas is placed in the needles, causing surrounding tissue to freeze. A second gas is then placed in the needles to reheat the tissue. The cycles of freezing and thawing kill the cancer cells and some surrounding healthy tissue.

Cryosurgery may be an option for men who haven't been helped by radiation therapy.

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy may be a treatment option for prostate cancer that has spread to distant areas of their bodies. Chemotherapy may also be an option for cancers that don't respond to hormone therapy.

Chemotherapy uses medicines to kill cancer cells. THE medicines are given through a vein in your arm, in pill form or both.

Biological therapy

The body's own immune system is used to fight cancer. One type of biological therapy called sipuleucel-T (Provenge) has been developed to treat advanced, recurrent prostate cancer.

The patient’s own immune cells are collected and genetically engineered in a laboratory. The cells, modified to fight prostate cancer, are injected back into the body through a vein. Some patients see improvement in their cancer, but the treatment is both expensive and time consuming as it calls for multiple treatments.

Come, let’s beat cancer together.
