Chemotherapy may be given by itself, along with radiotherapy or before/after radiotherapy or surgery.

Radiation Therapy:

Radiation is a very effective way of destroying cancer cells. Radiation is sometimes combined with chemotherapy. It is usually given for a period of 4-7 weeks, with daily sessions except on weekends.

Radiation therapy is relatively easy to tolerate and its side effects are limited to the treated area. Modern radiotherapy systems such as IMRT and IGRT enable targeted radiation that delivers just enough radiation in the most accurate way to minimize damage to healthy tissue.
